Visitors to Whiterock now have a new option when deciding where to spend the night.  Betts Farmhouse provides old fashioned farmhouse charm with a beautiful view of the countryside and a big yard for group activities or to pitch a tent for extra guests. The Farmhouse lets guests be “on the farm” and close to Whiterock trails in a comfortable setting for individuals or families.

The farmhouse sleeps five in three bedrooms (a queen, a full, a twin, plus another twin will be added soon in a fourth bedroom). The living room and dining room are connected with a large archway and have a comfortable sofa, loveseat and chair as well as a dining table that seats 6. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and a bar that works great as a buffet line.  Like any older farmhouse there is only one bathroom, located off the kitchen. The farmhouse is air conditioned, pet friendly and has a washer and dryer for guests’ use.

This is an ‘unplugged’ house allowing guests to take a break from the electronic world and enjoy each other and the natural world. The television only plays DVDs and there is no Wi-Fi or television signal.

The front porch features views of Iowa’s rolling crop and grazing fields and the tree filled back yard is the perfect place to grill dinner on the charcoal grill, enjoy a “campfire” in the fire ring or read a book while listening to the birds.

For large groups, Betts Farmhouse is located close to Oak Ridge Farmhouse and the Oak Ridge RV Campground.

Betts Farmhouse is located on Fig Avenue near Betts shop. It rents for just $90 a night and is now available. Make a reservation online or contact guest services at 712-790-8221 ext. 1.
