Keynote Speaker Timothy Naftali, CNN Presidential Historian and co-author of the award winning, “Khrushchev’s Cold War”, will review the Soviet Premier’s historic 1959 trip to the United States — highlighting the significance of his visit to the Roswell and Elizabeth Garst farm.

Whiterock will dedicate Salavat Scherbakov’s “Let Us Beat Swords into Ploughshares”, a replica of Yevgeny Vuchetich’s famous  1957 sculpture placed at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

Recent renovations to the historic Garst Farmhouse earned it the “Best Rural Preservation Project” from Preservation Iowa. House and grounds tours will celebrate its history and preservation work.  A Whiterock sustainable agricultural tour is also scheduled.
