Volunteer with AmeriCorps NCCC to Maintain Steve Garst Trail

An AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) team is hosting a community service day with Coon Rapids and Whiterock Conservancy on June 24, 2017. Volunteers are removing invasive species on the hiking trails of around Coon Rapids from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Volunteers will meet at 156 E. Main St. in Coon Rapids at 9:00 a.m.
The day involves conserving the native ecosystem along the Steve Garst Trail. Volunteers are walking along the trail and removing invasive species such as honeysuckle and multi-flora rose.
Protective gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided to volunteers. It is encouraged that participants wear long pants/sleeves, gloves, and sturdy shoes, bring their own loppers or bow saw, and pack lunch if desired.
